Undone

:: UNDONE ::

Black is the look I see in your eyes
I turn my face so you don’t see me cry
Anger unleashed burning my face
My ears bleed at the words you say
After this eruption
What do I have left
A flow of venom
To scar my breast.

  1. Lyrical yet taut. Found it fascinating that the poison is what leaves the scar while whatever the speaker said to the narrator acts more as a springboard for the narrator to react to. Points to wisdom in reflection, something always seductive in poetry. Well done.
