Insomnia
Wicked headache
Bitter cold room
Razor-blade breath
Disembodied footsteps
Above my head
Pillows on the floor
Blankets askew
Rocking, rocking
Sleep unattainable.

November PTSD
I have to admit it is a bleak evening
My brain is fuzzy
As well as my hands.
Clyde and cotton candy
Keep breaking into my thoughts
It was bound to happen
The November nightmares
And arctic winters
Of the past two years
Are Clyde’s creation
A natural PTSD
Haunting.

Really?
Here it comes
The flaw
The issue
How many days has it been?
Is this a new record?
Laughing in my head
Oh how rich I would be
If I placed bets
No One ever means it
When they say
They would never change you
Why must people spew words
That hold no meaning?
I beg to be proved wrong
It has yet to happen
And people wonder why
I am guarded…

Virgo’s Gaze
I am watching the sun set
Below November trees
So brilliant
They all but eclipse
The sun’s fiery decent.
I have been trying to craft
An ending to an
Uncooperative poem.
And even twilight’s show
Fails to inspire me.
With a frustrated sigh
I look up and find myself
Under the intense gaze
Of the Virgo sitting opposite me.
He tilts his head and says;
“You look fetching when
You are lost in thought”.
Maybe it was the timbre
Of his voice
Or the sunset reflected in
His eyes
But magickally
Inspiration found me
And I thanked him with
An unguarded smile,

~~ Thank you M.J.G. for that compliment. ~~
Irish Sass and Fifties Class
Today I am feeling
The fifties
Donning heirloom pearls
And red lipstick
Mary Janes
And Irish sass
Going to a cocktail party tonight
Make it shots for me
A slick dressed gentleman on my arm
With a matching devious smile
We are sure to make a scene
Misbehaving friends
Jaeger and shenanigans
It will be a Wednesday of epic proportions
Yes..
I am feeling the fifties tonight.
