Snow Angel ( a bit of nonsense)

I will make you an Angel in the snow
If you put a log on the fire
I promise not to put ice down your back
If you promise not to attack me
I will make you an Angel in the snow
If you put extra marshmallows in my cocoa
I will be your Angel in the snow
If you promise to warm me up afterwards.

What They Leave Behind

I sleep under blankets from boyfriends past
One is white like clouds
The other blue like the ocean
I don’t hang onto them for sentiment
I would gladly trade them…
For a space heater
I like to be warm when I sleep

Interrupted by a Fishing Pole?

Reverie Interrupted

I am mesmerized by the sea spray,
Down an endless shoreline.
It it weren’t for the white crest
of waves crashing
You would never know that
you gazed at the ocean.
I study the waves
as they break on pale sand
Disturbing, beautiful
Chaotic, angry
or maybe…
That’s just me.
The longer I look
the more I understand
It is a frenzied dance that
slams them to the shore
Images run through my brain
And while I search for the words
to explain my minds pictures
I loose all inspiration
When I almost run into
A man and his fishing pole

Creative Spider

Sand & Spiders

Sand and cliffs
On the riverbank
Water ripples
Tide pools swirl
A gianormous
Sand Spider
Just walked
On this page
Sign of creativity?
I think not!
I scream
Scaring the gulls away
But the spider remains

Requiem for a Lemon

:: Ode To The Lemon Slice::

Yellow lemon
Does dead man’s float
In the last gulps of my Corona
I have never been to Mexico
So, the glyphs on the bottle hold no meaning
I thrive on Jamison
And Irish Car Bombs

Pile of ashes
Half smoked cigarettes
Vintage Red Sox flame
In my nightgown on the deck
The flower pot smokes
My jaw goes slack

A big ass bug flies by
And brings me back to my drink
The lemon is no longer floating
Just a bit of mush
In the bottom of my Corona bottle

I guess my life doesn’t seem so rough
Rest In Peace Mr. Lemon
